穿掌 - chuān zhǎng - "Piercing Palm"

“掌心朝上掌指朝前，沿身体基一部位移动”

"With the palm face up and fingers pointing forward, thrust the palm across the body."

Possible Uses: Though Chuān zhǎng is more of a "Wushu"/performance move it does have its practical application. This move, using Spear hands to strike forward, can be found in Bruce Lee's interview! It is used to  gouge the eyes or hook into and rip the nose. There are many variations and movements that go with this and will be covered in later posts.

I chose this word as today when I was reading a short story from DuChinese it talked about being fluent in Chinese while in China. I also chose this word as its the goal of every language learner to become fluent in the language that they are studying. How will I become fluent if I can't even say fluent?

2 Corinthians 4:18 KJV

In various religions all around the world the goal is usually the same, to get closer to "nothingness" or closer to the spirit/God. If you read more of this verse you see that not only is the idea of this passage to focus on the spirit while realizing physical objects are temporary but it also explains how one should, "...renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully...", meaning one should be honest in all things, their word, their intentions and in their study of God.
